Preparing the Christmas Menu

For Christmas, we celebrate a beautiful lunch with all my family. My old sister is in charge of the soup (ummm! so yummy!), my other sister prepares a traditional sweedish plate and I'm in charge of the starters.
Below I leave you some that I made last year. And you, do you have any suggestion?
Christmas starter
red pepper jam with goat cheese cream and  roasted aubergine   / mermelada de pimiento rojo con crema de queso de cabra y berenjena asada

Christmas starters
boletus petit choux with foie cream

profiteroles de boletus con crema de foie

Christmas starter
boletus and cottage cheese tartalette

tartaleta de requesón y setas

Christmas starter
puff pastry with sheep cheese quince jam and pistachos

I wish you a Merry Christmas!

¡Te deseo unas Felices Fiestas!

The Best Brownie

Today I want to share with you one of my favourites cakes ever! It is usually the birthday cake for every member of my family (although I try to change to another cake sometimes). It is so simple and so delicious that I’m sure that you will try it…

For a medium size cake (for 10-12 people) you need:
-        200 gr butter
-        200 gr sugar
-        200 gr chocolate
-        70 gr flour
-        150 gr chopped walnuts
-        4 eggs

Preheat oven to 180ºC (350ºF) and place the rack in the center of the oven. Grease a square baking pan and line the bottom of the pan with wax paper.
In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar and eggs (one at a time). Next, add the melted chocolate and butter. Finally, stir in the chopped walnuts.
Pour into the prepared pan and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a little batter (don’t over bake, because it will get dry!)
Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
You can serve with some ice cream, chocolate sauce (I made a topping with white chocolate). Enjoy it!

¡Buen provecho!

I wish you a wonderful week!

At this stage of the blog, you already know that Autumn is my favourite season of the year. I adore the colors of the nature, the warm meals and the looks without heavy garments to cover you. Then, here you have my favourites oufits for this new season…

Amsterdam, the Perfect Autumn City

As it was my husband’s birthday, we made a family lunch and he received our present… a trip to Amsterdam! Hurraaaa! I’m a lucky girl, because I was his companion (although he could choose one of his friends, ok?). Nothing more to say than Amsterdam is a very, very beautiful city and it is perfect to visit in Autumn, because it is not crowded at all and the temperature is correct to walk around without freeze your nose. The only thing that we didn’t like was the restaurants, because they were expensive and not very good (maybe I’m got into bad habits because we eat so well in my country). Then, here it is a sneak peek of our break…

P.S.: if you are wondering, no, we didn’t go to any coffee shop! You only need to walk around them ;-)

"no bake" cheese cake

I’ve been very busy this last month and I couldn’t follow my blog and even visit others. On the other hand, sometimes I feel that maybe I don’t have any interesting to tell you…
Anyway, now I want to share a simple but effective recipe of a dessert (yes, I can cook non sweet meals too!): the no bake cheese cake.
As the name shows, you only need a refrigerator to make it and a few ingredients. Take note…

220 gr fresh cheese
200 gr whipped cream
10 biscuits (such as graham crackers)
80 gr butter
4 spoons of sugar
1 spoon of lemon juice
For the topping: 200 gr fruit jam with 2 spoons of water
Follow the pictures to see how you can make a super cake!

Toma nota:

220 gr queso crema (tipo Philadelphia)
200 gr nata montada
10 galletas (tipo granola o digestive)
80 gr mantequilla

I wish you a super nice week!
¡Feliz semana!

My August, part two

And following, the rest of the holidays…
To finish our frenchy tour, we went to the flea market and antiques at Barjac, to “chiner” something (we finally bought several items for our garden and a lovely bottle of the famous Saint-Raphaël aperitif). And because the pottery fair at Anduze wasn’t far away, we stop to have a quick glance…

We also spent some days at our country home at La Segarra, with my sweet nephews (how can I love them so much?!) enjoying the family dinners, the walks at the sunset... And we made some day trips to discover nice places around…

But if I have to define the “leif-motiv” of my August, definitely were animals! I found three kittens at my garden (and later I found her dead mommy!) and an owl at my country garden (everybody says it is a sing of good luck. We’ll see…). Yeah! It was a good month…

I wish you a super nice week!
¡Que tengas una feliz semana!
